The Magic of Committing

I found it magical when I started making commitments defining the ways I want to live my life.

My brain began to alter what I thought and how I behaved in accordance with my commitments. Similar to what a self correcting GPS system would do. I found myself automatically feeling and behaving in harmony with my commitments.

I gain a lot of confidence and assuredness in myself as I read these multiple times each day.

Here are a few of the commitments I’ve made:

  • I commit to taking 100% responsibility for my life. My attitudes, my reactions, my results. I commit to not playing the role of a victim.
  • I commit to taking responsibility for my finances.
  • I commit to seeing and holding myself as lovable, always.
  • I commit to not taking things personally.
  • I commit to seeing others as always lovable no matter how stupid, selfish, angry, entitled, unhappy or victim oriented they are.

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
